I know dell is an abvious choice but i wanted to know if anyone knows other shops / websites where i can find other brands??
And also has anyone found a cheap Intel core 2 duo SONY VAIO ????? i.e under £700 ???

I've bought a few from EuroPC and, they're prices are pretty good and the products they sell are classed as 'refurbished' but they were built to order by Dell for people who changed their minds or changed the spec of their machine.
You'll geta Core 2 Duo for around £600

If you want something similar to dell where you can customise the PC try http://www.alienware.co.uk nice laptops but as they top of the range hardware the cheapest they do is around £700 but they do look good

purely persist with something established and easy! hewlitt packard or compaq are approximately the exceptional ones made at present day! toshiba's are actually not too risky! something you do do not waste you funds on dell or acer, or fujitsu or yet another wide-spread built junkers! properly sturdy fortune :oP
