Love is an Emotion/Feeling, it is not something that we can control. I can honestly say that I love my husband, but I do not always like him.
You can not control who you "Love" but you can control how you handle it and what you do about it.

True love that lasts more than a few months is a decision. There is that warm happy feeling and emotion that everyone thinks of as love which lasts during the early parts of a relationship while the two are forming bonds with each other. True love is that decision that you make that says even when times are difficult and you don't necessarily see things eye to eye that you still care deeply about the other person and want what is best for them. To truly love somebody is a decision you make each and every day but it is ultimately more fulfilling and than fleeting emotions that fluctuate with circumstances.

Well, after reading these answers, it becomes clearer to me why arranged marriages last longer on average than those driven by "love."
Falling in love is based on emotions, possibly lust. People who think the love is gone when all the "warm fuzzies" go away are the ones who tend to divorce.
Long term love is a choice. You need to chose to love the person you want to build your life with. The warm fuzzies will come and go, and that doesn't mean you should run out and divorce someone, because they come back. What lasts is the desire to stay with that person through thick and thin, and that's where the CHOICE to love someone comes in.
