The REAL goal in life is to be as HAPPY as we can be.

Which will make you the happiest: reaching your goals, or making other people happy?

You shouldn't live your life giving up on your happiness for the sake of other people... however, if pursuing your goal will make others SO desperately unhappy that it actually makes YOU unhappy because you care for them... then ask yourself WHERE do my happiness really lie.

Once you have figured out your OWN criteria for happiness, making decisions will be easier.

Look after your OWN goals and happiness - just like other should look after theirs.

In the end, there are always winners and losers - but we shouldn't quit the race, just because we feel sorry for others.

You are really Numero Uno and if you stick to this sincerely---you will not be unhappy.
Whatever choice you take in life should not be with the intention of deliberately causing pain or loss to another. No doubt some of your decisions will displease or hurt some---but that is inevitable---you cannot please all of the people all of the time.
So think deeply and use your gut and conscience to guide you. If you are not going to be happy seeing others upset, then go by that. If you are going to feel more unfulfilled and grudging by giving up some dream, then don't give it up. If you are the type that feels content with general approval, then go with that flow. Whichever of these is the strongest, most productive, least damaging----is your direction. BOL

Depends on what your goal is, and what the effect is on these people? Do you have kids, and want to be a stripper? Then, yes back out.

i think i know where you are coming from on this. some decisions are so hard to make especially when they can have someones feelings involved like you are talking about. always helps me to go to prayer and ask god to help me figure this one out and to lift my burdens. he will instantly make you feel a relief and you can come to a better understanding.
