So lately I have been waking up because of itchiness in my vaginal area(like for a couple months now). It's comes and goes, always in the same spot. I am a virgin, but I did fool around when i was younger but it has been a full year since i have had any sexual contact. I don't think it's an STD, but the fact that it keeps coming back just scares me. Yeast infection? Maybe. But I have had one and it feels different. Please let me know if i should be worried.

Could be. Could also be the type of underwear you wear (or don't wear). I can't stand thongs. I don't know how girls wear them. They can irritate, they don't provide enough protection against the surface of your clothes and bacteria can form and that is probably what is causing the itchiness.

Try an anti-itch cream like Lanacane or talk to your doctor and they can prescribe something for you. Try to remember when it itches and what you might have worn.

Don't wear too tight clothes as you need to "breathe" down there....same with the fellas...it can actually cause sterility to men when "the boys" are held too tight to the body as the heat kills the sperm.

you don't have to have sex to get a yeast infection...wearing stockings in hot hot weather, shaving, etc...you can buy over the counter remedies for yeast infections, and try that...and if it don't work, then time to go to your gynecologist, and get something that will take care of the problem...good luck,

It could be a yeast infection, or something called BV (bacterial vaginosis)...... you should see your doc and get some antibiotics. . .
