A blocked ID is intentionally blocked so you can't see it. A number is punched in before they dial your number so it's blocked to your caller ID.
An Unknown ID is a number that may be new or is another form of hiding it. It may not have a name associated with it.

A Blocked ID has been blocked on purpose by the originator of the call. An Unknown ID is one the Caller ID system can't identify for some reason. Sometimes a weak signal can cause this.
