I'm running Windows 98 on my desktop and have more memory but every once in awhile I'll try to open IE only to get a message that it can't be found. Sometimes I'll get nothing but a blank page; it just won't load!!!

I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Win98 is very unstable and is no longer supported by Microsoft. The blank screen is a known issue with 98 and nothing can be done to correct it.
If you have 512 mb of memory and at lest a 40gig hard drive. Buy windowsXP. The full OEM version. Not the grade to XP.
XP is more stable and is supported by MS.

Windows 98 is a old program and slow to begin with. I know I had it and it was awful . You NEED to upgrade at least to windows XP which has been around a good while now. As far as not being able to find IE it could be your connection, which you don't say is either DSL or Dial-up. Now dial -up is another slow go too. I recommend it is time to upgrade. Once you upgrade I am sure most problems will be resolved.
