The reason that you are getting what seems like two different answers is that the movie you saw varied from what happened in Stephen King's book "Cujo". In the movie version that you missed the ending to, the above posters are correct in that Dee Wallace Stone's character ends up killing "Cujo" with a stick after she braves entering the house to get water to try to save her son. In the book, the boy dies of dehydration and it is only after that, where she has lost the thing she values most in her life, her son, does she have nothing left to lose and wants vengeance in facing the rabid dog Cujo.
The book is so much better than the movie as it also gets inside Cujo's head also and shows his descent into rabid dog madness that just could not be conveyed on screen; I recomment reading the book.

The boy is suffering from dehydration in the car and the mother makes it into the house to use the phone, but it rings and sends Cujo into a frenzy. He gets in the house and tries to attack her and she stabs him with a broken broom handle or something like that. Then her hubby comes up the drive and rescues them. Dead doggie on the porch. That's how I remember it. It's pretty wild because nowadays most people have cell phones and could have called for help. By the way, the book is soooo much better because you get into Cujo's mind.

Cujo is unquestionably not between the scarier video clips there. the really component this is going to do is placed you off saint bernards :) The haunting of connecticut isnt that scary both. have self assurance me. Silence of the lambs is very well performed and quite demanding so as that is a sturdy one. Texas chainsaw bloodbath is largely scary in case you locate slashers chilling. i idea that both new and previous variations of a nightmare on elm street were fairly scary and the shining is yet another strong one in case you've not considered it :) the perfect 3 there might want to be silence of the lambs, nightmare on elm and the shining :)

The mother kills the dog with a stick of some kind. The boy gets sick but the dad shows up after she kills the dog and they take the boy into the house and he is going to be ok. I saw the show a long time ago but I liked it. I thought it was a good suspense movie.

Your question is about the movie - not the book - both mother and son live - Cujo dies.

The kid gets dehydrated and almost dies, the mom kills the dog and the dad shows up. They go in the house and get some water for the kid and they're all fine in the end. In the book the kid dies.

IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I SAW IT TOO, but, as in most Stephen King stories, the good guys win. It was a long, bloody fight but remember Stephen King's own father deserted him, his mom, and his bro (i believe). So mothers are often heroes in King stories.

The moral of the story is to not drive a piece of crap car and always carry a gun. Then scary dogs won't be a problem.
