rush
to solve or close the case, mishandle the investigation, left too many unanswered questions, over looked evidence, and generally were inept in the investigation? Yes I have seen lose change, fairheight 911, and other documentries, but as much as I disaprove of GWB, I don't think he had any foreknowledge of the attacks

I agree with you Paul, some people on here are so misinformed, and think that GWB knew in advance. Our President, nor the had a clue that this was coming. Clinton however did. And when news reporters confront him on that, he gets very defensive, and angry.
Yes, there were flaws in our investigation, and I think we waited to long to respond to the 9/11 attacks.

And you are indeed sir, one of the few Liberals on this site that has a brain...Maybe they did go in a bit of a rush, but everyone and their brother were saying WMDS were in Iraq, (Don't make me post the link to Democrats saying the same thing again)..Also,even though most Liberals don't want to believe it, there WERE Al Queda in Iraq as well as training cells..This has been proved time and again..

· "The most damning linkage between Iraq and Al Qaeda came shortly after September 11, 2001, when Czech authorities revealed that one of the September 11 terrorists met in Prague with a known Iraqi intelligence officer prior to the attacks on New York and Washington. Mohamed Atta, who probably flew the first plane to hit the World Trade Center, met in April 2001 with the second-secretary to Iraq's embassy in Prague, Khalil Ibrahim Samir Al-Ani. Mr. Al-Ani was later expelled from the Czech Republic on suspicion of spying and of plotting to destroy American installations.

I think they handled the initial investigation (what little of it was necessary to determine who was responsible - it was no secret Bin Laden and Al Qaeda wanted to attack us) and they were on the right track with the war when they invaded Afghanistan.

What they blew was the Iraq "investigation" (and I use that term loosely because I'm not sure how much actual fact-gathering was done, as opposed to picking the facts that support your choice to go to war).

I've said this before on Y/A and I'll say it again. There were no organized Al Qaeda groups in Iraq before we opened the country up for it. The real countries who harbor terrorists as of 9/11 were: Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Lybia, Syria, maybe North Korea and the Sudan.

NO, I don't think President Bush had and foreknowledge.
I think it is a sad day in America when certain groups of Americans know the truth but pretend otherwise just to attempt to produce a groundswell of emotion that would remove President Bush from office. I don't agree with all the actions of our President... but I will not join forces with America's enemies... and that is just what some on here have done.

Sorry we stole your land my native friend. I would have to agree with your assessment of the situation. Only one thing I disagree with and that is Faireight 911 is not a documentary, it was full of statements and events taken OUT of context Moore used in his ideology. Also to be fair, Clinton and his Adm. had many chances , knowing what was in the works, to take UBL out and they didn't. I am not sure why Bush didn't act immediately upon taking office, other than the need to put his people in place.

Yes, I agree with you 100%.
My son was only 14 that summer and was flying from Florida to Kentucky alone to visit relatives. The government did put out notice that Osama bin Laden had threatened to hijack passenger jets and Americans were warned of this danger on INTERNATIONAL flights.
Who in the heck would have guessed it would happen within our country!??

As far as I can determine the mistakes were in intelligence before 9/11. The case was well handled afterwards with the terrorists identified, and work begun to prevent a repeat, a thing Clinton failed to do.

Government employees have been known to be inept in the past, so, yes that is a possibility.

Edit: I am commenting on the so-called career employees found in the bureaucracies such as IRS, Social Security Administration, FBI, CIA, GSA, etc.

Thank you. It is nice to see that a Bush-hater is still smart enough to realize that Bush didn't plan the attacks.

sorry, the 911 commission was bipartisan so you are going to have to look else where other than the Bush Administration for a conspiracy on this one. Unless of course you are talking about what clinton may have wanted hidden since he sent Sandy in to do a heist for him.
