I have a 1997 bmw 328i sedan and I hit an animal. Now, there's the piece of the body at the bottom of the front bumper, its just a single solid strip across which got cracked in the middle. Is that considered the front bumper or can I just replace that piece? Also, there is a piece right underneath the front of the car that is a black plastic piece that goes across the under side of the car, I believe it is protecting the radiator and it helps hold the fog lights in. What is this piece called? Anyone please help, I need to get this fixed without the hassle of a mechanic. (online order to save lots of money)

Simple... take a picture with your cell phone(if can afford a BMW) sure you do have a cellphone with this feature., If not draw a picture with pencil or pen of the area or part that is broken and if still need help, pointed out to the counter clerk at the salvage yard, at least that is the plce where I buy my parts for my vehicles, I know a little bit of everything, but also try to look for salvage yards and call several of them and if you get lucky enough you nay even find the right color from wrecked model like yours. Auf vierdesehen !

It's an air-dam and usually comes on the fascia (bumper cover). You may be able to buy it seperately. Talk to a dealer, they can tell you their cost and the part number. I've found a lot of good prices on auto parts through ebay stores and searching on yahoo.
