I think the majority (or at least a plurality) are still from Canada, but I don't have any firm numbers. I've posted a link below to a CBC site. You can check for any team how many Canadian, American, and European players they have.
Just go to Teams, then Tale Of The Tape and it gives a side-by-side comparison of several items between the team and their next opponent.
For example, the Sabres have 8 Canadians, 4 Americans, and 10 Euros. The Islanders are 9, 8, 5 respectively. Total so far 17, 12, 15.
See how easy that is. Now you just need to do it for the rest of the league!
I checked the Top 30 scorers in the league:
Austria 1
Canada 15
Czech 2
Finland 2
Germany 1
Russia 5
Slovakia 1
Sweden 2
US 1
So you see it's still a Canadian game. Jason Blake, the only American in the top 30, was 30th. Dang!

You can roughly estimate that 50% are from Canada, 25% from the US, and 25% from Europe. The exact numbers are constantly changing with people retiring or getting brought up and down from the minors.
