No. January 1st is a federal holiday and Jan. 2nd is a federal mourning day in honor of President Ford. But some of the larger post offices have a self serve area that's open 24/7 if there's one near you. But anything you send won't be postmarked until Jan. 3rd.

Not in the US. There is also no postal service on January 2ND due to the day of mourning for President Ford.

Not in Canada...its a statutory holiday. Service resumes January 2nd.

It is a national holiday here. The 2nd should be back to services.

No there is not and I doubt here will be any on the 2nd either in view of Ford's memorial pr remembrance day activities.

Depends where you live.

If New Year's Day is observed as a statutory holiday in your area, then no.

Not in the US, and, this year, no mail on Jan. 2nd, in honor of Pres. Ford. (Makes no sense to me.)
