When the Roman Empire was at its weakest, the threat of Germanic tribes was great, the Empire was barley coping. Now the new threat of Attila the Hun was evident... But how.. How the hell did the Romans know the Hun was coming... Did the receive texts? Or 911 calls? But anyway, Pope Leo 1 was asked to go and speak to the hun, and apparently they knew exactly where they were. So, the pope went straight up to Atilla and said "Aye." This straight forward comment towards Atilla made the Hun shudder in his fur boots. The Hun, for some reason decided to back down and agree to the Popes request... But how? The Pope spoke Latin and maybe Italian. So how the fff would he communicate with this Hun warrior from Asian origins? Who knows man, I was not listening when I was there. Sorry
