In a moment of "brilliance" I emptied the Recycle Bin that had a file that I needed. It's a very important data base that I need to restore somehow. Is there a way I can do it or have it done? Thanks in advance.

yep, as long as the space the file was using has not been overwritten. There are several programs you can get to recover lost files, and if its not retrievable through the software applications, you may have to take it a repair shop and have them do a data recovery, but that could get real expensive.

Try eDATA Unerase from OctaneSoft.com

or just search at http://www.download.com for restore programs

It is definitely possible, though I don't know how to do it. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find out how to do it or someone to do it for you. The info is still on your hard drive, it's now just marked as available space until it gets overwritten. Don't save anything and do as little as possible on your PC until you can retrieve the file you need.

Dont write anything to your hard drive now as this may overwrite that file you want to recover, in fact, dont even switch it off.

Then download the file recovery program called Restoration.exe from http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html and see if you can recover the file. To prevent overwriting the deleted file, save the Restoration program to another drive, such as another hard drive (if you have one) or to a USB memory disk.

Best of luck.
