Good "things" as you say does not forgive you of sins. If you do 1,000,000,000 good "things, and sin against God, it does not matter. Sin by man far out weighes good "things" done by man in this world. No one is perfect except Christ.

It matters not, as there is no "scale" in heaven to weight either. Jesus took away the sin of the world, if you accept his sacrifice.
