I think American Dad is funnier!

I like both, but i think Family Guy is Funnier. American Dad is OK, but is sometimes is a bit slow and i do not get some of the references made concerning American National Security because i live in Australia.

Family Guy is miles funnier than American Dad, as its jokes are much more random and better written as nothing beats a genius talking baby.

What's better apples or oranges?
They're both good for different reasons.
Both shows are hilarious but I must say I can relate to Family Guy much more... their references seem obscure but I'm old enough to remember them which make me feel good that I 'get' it.
I enjoy all the characters.
American Dad is funny in a different way and I like watching it too.
The alien is my favourite on that show.
