Are you talking about the Boy Bands, the groups that girls usually listen to and go ga-ga over the guys? Maybe a girl he likes listens to it, and he is trying to understand what she sees in it; maybe it's Jessica Simpson, and if so, believe me, he's not only listening to her music! Or, as some of the others have said, both sexes have listened to pop music at least since Beethoven first hit Germany's charts. U2, Rolling Stones, even Aerosmith have gone pop.(If you don't believe me, listen to the Armageddon soundtrack, and Aerosmith's song, "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing").

Yeah why not, many rock star musicians, and "soul" singers as they were called back in the '70's went pop,for example Rod Stewart, the Jackson Five,to name a couple.
Even the "Beatles" were accused of going pop back in the day,now you hear their music on elevators and dentist offices.

of course it is - if everybody liked the same music the world would be a bit dull. If you like the music/song listen to it and ignore what every one else thinks

be individual to your own tastes

If that's your interest then yes! Music is for the soul...and for everybody who has passion for it. And I agree about not caring about the genre. If that's what your heart wants to listen to...then go for it.

Yes of course it is.

Everybody likes different types of music, don't start worrying until it's cult music, then you have a problem.
