Apparently "Sharon" means fruitful -- the only Biblical connection I know of is the Rose of Sharon, from the "Song of Songs" passages (which are quite beautiful love poetry). Here's a link to a site about the shrub, Rose of Sharon, which also gives background to the Bible and the Torah.

First Sharon was the name of a flat coastal area in Israel.
In the Bible God made a reference to the Rose of Sharon.
(You find that name in Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath as ”Rosasharn”)
Afterwards it was also used as a name, first for boys, then also for girls:
Ariel Sharon, P.M. of Israel,
Sharon Tate, Roman Polanski’s partner (murdered by Charles Manson)

Sharon is also another word for khaki, the fruit (and color).

You are welcome!
