Hiccups are caused by a muscle contracting "spams" under the lungs. There is no way to get rid of them.

Why hiccups occur is actually unknown so it is very difficult to come up with a solution to these irregular cramps. I doubt there is need for major concern. The position of your baby may increase the chances of hiccups occuring but try not to worry about it too much unless it prevents feeding, sleep or other activities.

It is okay for your baby to have the hiccups. At this age there is no real way to get rid of them. Babies frequently get the hiccups, but for them it is just a natural part of the day. It doesn't bother babies like it bothers adults.

There is nothing you can do. Hiccups will not hurt your baby. They may be annoying, but they will not harm him/her. Just ignore them. My daughter gets them all the time too, she is 2 months old. Don't listen to advice about giving syrup or anything else, it does not help, and it is not good for your baby.
Don't worry about them they will go away, no harm no foul.

I find this always works for me. press your tender part of your temples , quite firmly , both sides with forefingers, hold this for about 60 seconds and demand the next hiccup to happen. Don't know if its one of those mind over matter things, but as strange as it may seem, it always works!(Well it does for me)Happy UN-hiccuping..... Well messed that up, thought you were talking about yourself ...Sooooorry.

a friend told me that pinching your nose and holding your breath for 10 seconds will help cure hiccups. but i think it would be a little dangerous to babies.

You can try giving him gripe water, it always works for my baby. Sometimes burping them will help or rubbing their back in a quick motion.
