Hope so. Most of the major religions were originally postulated on this idea. It is only after they are corrupted by priests and other people who want power for its own sake that these religions became corrupted. Still, it must be true that ultimately love and compassion will win over evil, hate and greed.

Yes, compassion can solve alot but there are types of people that don't respond to compassion. As far as the relation between the two, I think compassion is a product of love. Not passion type love but the love that resides in your heart in general. Love doesn't have to be sexual. The love I'm talking about is more of a spiritual force. It heals your inner child...

I am not sure what you mean by "agents of change", but there are some differences between love and compassion. Love as you know is love and there are different kinds of love including brotherly love, being in love, love for family, etc. Compassion on the other hand is showing care for someone, usually someone in need whether for emotional reasons or materialistic reasons.

When you love someone you do change, your whole life changes. Mine was for the better. I LOVE my husband and he is the most compassionate man I have ever seen except for Steve Irwin who reminds me of him. My husband is from Australia. He runs right along side of him.
Compassion is seeing a 6 foot 4 inch, muscular man saving a small animal from death and being so gentle with it when he lets it free. Or gives a couple of poor families food and pays medical bills just because he can help and will help them. That is compassion.

I have always been a cheater and always thought "cheating" was no big deal, but when I started to feel compassion and love towards those who are hurt by my or anyone else's infidelity I was transformed by it,it was an "agent of change".

In this world love and compassion are usually mocked and considered a sign of weakness, especially in neighborhoods that violence is an every day occurance. If we can't use them to calm a street or a city it certainly isnt' going to work in a nation.
