I am asking as I am honestly puzzled. I do not mean any spite or sarcasm or anything. And no, I am not trying to preach.

Is there anything wrong for a country to be governed under US brand of Democracy? If not, then why is it that the US puts in a lot money, effort and lives to invade, or have notions to invade a country to spread its brand of democracy?

What if the present system of governance in that country actually works for its people... their culture, their way of thinking and their own culture? Will it be justified then to impose US brand of democracy to people who are actually okay with their system of governance?

well, what i think is at first USA did give a good start to it's citizens by giving them all the fundamental freedoms - today because of those "extreme" freedoms, it's water over the bridge...thus the place is in so much of misery......I think such democracy is totally unsafe......

Unfortunately, in order for democracy to survive, it has to grow. It is a system that is destined to fail at some point. But until then, we have to assimilate the planet slowly to provide the growth necessary. It was nice of the Russians to bail on communism and I'm pretty happy about the Chineese converting. Things are rocking along nicely here in the US. Cept that war thing. But hey, once we are done in the middle east, more growth!

Is there a particular instance you had in mind where the US invaded a country whose government could reasonably have been said to be working?

First off the US is NOT a Democracy --- it is a REPUBLIC --- read the Constitution. No sarcasm intended.
