lol means "laugh out loud"
ax or axt is just carried over from the old South. It has been passed on for generations. It isn't just a black thing it is a southern thing.

To your first question:
At one point in time, LOL stood for "Lots of Love". However, in the computer age, "LOL" (or lol) stands for "Laugh Out Loud".
Its origins stem from Instant Messenger and other communication services over the internet or BBS. Its meant to express that the person typing "LOL" is laughing at whatever he or she just read onscreen, usually a message from another person.
As for your second question:
"Axe" and "Axt" are misprononciations for "Ask" and "Asked". This mistake is not exclusive to people of African-American culture.
Often, a person's genetic make-up dictates the control over how a person can manipulate his or her tongue, which effects how we speak. For example, not everyone is capable of "curling" their tongue- its a genetic ability.
Likewise, genetics dictate the ease we can manipulate our tongue to help form and pronounce vowels and consonants. Certain people cannot pronouce a distinct "ESS" sound, and so it is heard as a lisp: "ETH". This is the same for your question regarding "AXE" and "AXT".
It has to do with genetics, and it has to do with culture. If one grows up in an environment hearing a word pronounced a certain way, one tends to repeat that word as heard.
Why should it matter? You know what they're saying, don't you? I'll wager your grammar isn't perfect, either! Just a thought...
