I ALSO THINK THAT IT TOOK THEM TOO LONG TO HANG HIM. BUT I ALSO THINK THAT IS NOT ENOUGH PUNISHMENT FOR ALL LIVES HE TOOK AWAY AND THE PAIN HE CAUSED. THE THOUSANDS OF MOTHERS CRYING FOR THEIR DEAD SONS AND DAUGHTERS. THE THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN LEFT WITHOUT PARENTS. HE WAS A MONSTER.

shame on you all who reccomend such execution! i am ashamed to even live in such a society that 'so-called' encourages fair trials etc and wait a min, listen to this, who are the killers of all the precious human lives of every person that was killed in the war and dont forget the soldiers who lost thier lives for no bloody reason what so ever so who are the real killers and why do ppl get influenced so easily by media? dont u guys have a brain of your own to decide what is right and what is wrong. shame shame shame on u all for encouraging it. I am devastated and feel sick reading ur inhumane comments where ppl out there lost every person from thier family and all at once in this bloody war which wasn't even suppose to take place coz there was no evidence of mass destruction anyway so wait a min, all those lives lost for nothing. so who are the real killers then? shouldn't they be punished for thier crimes? remember ppl, this is where justice comes in. the REAL justice so they should be punished even worse in regards to how many lives were lost. so think with your own bloody brains and not get so easily influenced by what u been told, a whole pack of lies.

It's democracy and the rule of law, not the Wild West or even the Wild Middle East. So you have a proper trial, where the accused is allowed to defend himself, and obviously he will string it out if he can, and then appeal. But he lost the appeal, justice was done and was seen to be done, and I hope that if you think about it, you can see why that is important. If the Iraqi government had strung him up before this, they would have been no better than him

I completely agree with the execution of Saddam. The man was nothing but terror to all man kind. He even had his own son's killed. It is true that the only judgement that matters is that of the lord's and by executing him, we sent him to be judged by god. And so I ask of you, would you rather have imprisoned him? If we would have done that, how many of his followers would have killed more innocent people trying to break him free. And if they would have succeeded, how many people would have to die after he forms another army? Had he not have been executed, the blood of many innocent people would have been on the hands of those who had the power to do so.

didn't take that long, its only about 3 days since his final appeal was turned down. His trial took a long time, but that's normal for war crimes trials. He certainly deserved to die for the carnage he wrought on his own people.

I think his crimes warranted the death penalty but we are supposed to be the civilised Western world, the majority of which countries are opposed to the death penalty. So we are just as bad as Saddam's regime. He deserved life imprisonment, certainly, but we were wrong to hang him. He's just become a martyr for the other side now.

Regardless of what crimes Saddam committed or ordered, I too found it uncomfortable to see him go to the gallows. I suppose because we don't have the death penalty in Great Britain it seems strange and upsetting - not something I could ever welcome no matter what the crime.

They HAD to go through the Iraq judicial system.

They could not be seen trying to bring law and frredom to a countery by killing its old leader without trial.

They had to go through the due process of Iraqi law. These things take time.
