if u want high mileage, decent torque, decent cc engine size, decent maintainece requirements....get a harley. metric cruisers do offer higher cc engines than harley, but they also dont quite get as good of mileage because of that, and the weight of the bike. metric's are generally water cooled to be able to give more cc's vs harley's air-cooled engine.
harley's are renowned for their torque reputation. all bikes require maintainance, but how well u take care of them will be how long they'll last. best bike: 1200cc sportster. out of all the harleys, the sportster has been rated as having the best mileage for the engine size. '07 fuel injected sportsters are being estimated at getting up to 57 mpg. impressive for a bit of a heavyweight bike. i get mid-50's mpg, and mine is carburated.

The bike I suggest, for buy price, low maintenance, high mileage engine, and large cc's in either the 1100 Honda Shadow Spirit, or a step up the Honda VTX 1300. I have owned two 1100 Shadow Spirit's (I ride one now) and have had no problem, plus it rides and handles nice.

once you're making plans to journey for some years it relatively is beneficial to start (somewhat) small and artwork as much as a much bigger motorbike. This has the ease of providing you with extra journey with out too plenty potential. you will discover ways to admire the features of motorcycles in the past you get a large motorbike. maximum falls are interior the early weeks / month / years. once you're coming off you like it to be slower quite than speedier. Does that sound damaging - it won't. i've got been using considering the fact that 'seventy 5, the previous couple of motorcycles have all been massive.

Go for Honda. Japanese automobiles are always better than Bajaj or TVS. Honda CBZ or Unicorn provide a decent performance and mileage. If power is more important than mileage, Karizma can be considered.

go for the royal enfield thunderbird........milage of 50+ , 350 cc engine, 120+ speed , high torque , .....mantainence cost is slightly high as it requires more engine fuel then other bikes.....and its heavier frame and low center of gravity gives it high stability.....the seats are comfortable....ground clearance is good....the huge tyres grip the road well.....suspension is good....and the kick start gives no problems which the bullet gives....and it is lighter then the bullet
