i don't think it's an ideal punishment for anyone... i'd recommend letting someone rot in jail. that is worse, in my opinion... afterall, nobody is better than anyone else.

No, the ideal punishment is to send people like that to some remote planet where they can all live with people just as insane as them and the rest of us can have 'world peace' - but surely it is an insane and impossible answer, just as the question you asked is impossible to resolve. We live in a world of extreme diversity - cultures, religions, believes, views, power, money and a whole lot more differ not just from one region to another - but from person to person. Surely you will find different views of EVERYTHING. There will never be an ideal anything as we don't live in an ideal world.

Capital punishment could be reserved for severe intentional crimes. Saddam could desire to of used his powers for the solid yet he's evil in innovations. He has no remorseful approximately for his movements and could grow to be outraged and phone the unfair card while he's placed head to head for his crimes. hundreds of people had their lives cut back or scarred simply by fact this guy headed a regime that further submission by way of terror against his very own human beings. loss of life is referred to as a favour for him simply by fact the wages of sin will pay is loss of life (Romans 6:23) so by utilising loss of life Saddam could have paid for his sins and be sq. with God (no longer asserting he gets the present of eternal existence) nonetheless this might grant little interior the words of a lesson to different despotic leaders interior the international it truly is going to demonstrate that no-one is an untouchable and can be further to justice.

I agree with you--- I think worst punishment is just being locked up, having time to reflect on all the bad things you did, and well over time you would hopefully repent and find God. They sure gave him the easy way out.

nah, i don't vote for death....just let him suffer physically and mentally, let him rot in a maximum security jail, in an isolation chamber, with no special privileges...although i think his death will bring closure to the one's affected by his cruelty...especially the families of those who he executed.....
I agree, any criminal can repent, and I don't necessarily agree at all with death as punishment for criminals, maybe community service and rotting in jail will be better....but Saddam is an exception...i think because keeping him around will a major security risk...and besides, keeping him alive in return for all the crimes he did will just fuel the Iraqi people's anguish over the death of their loved ones under Saddam's rule...

um...according to the bible, executions for murder are ok! im sure saddam had plenty of time to repent durring the imense duration of his trial!
addendum: Deut 21:22 "And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;"
wow....that seems to fit a little TOO nicely o.0
addendum2: dont play the god/scripture card, it will usually bite you in the a$s on the rebuttal.

i think so too, what happened with sadam was really bad, ok might be he deserved it but i think u must give a chance to a person to repent on his bad deeds, why not give a chance, our merciful allah also gives chance to human ,, but the problem in sadam case is that some one wants to show himself that every thing is in his control and he can do what ever he wants and no one can stop him, i hope he gets more worse end than this.

People, he killed people for no reason. He denied the Iraqi people their human rights. He committed war crimes. He deserves execution, no questions asked. In my personal opinion, if you take a life, you do not deserve to have yours, for the other person is deceased and the person's family and friends suffer. Only supernatural or higher powers (to be PC) have to right to take human life.

Execution is of course a punishment but it is more a revenge.
The real punishment for a dictator like Saddam is showing him how his "empire" is dismantled, and to show him how we change his world, and how he was a failure to eliminate his opponents or the ideas of his opponents.

God said in the Old Testament "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" --- Saddam is answering to GOD now for what he has done. If GOD chooses to forgive him, if he asks GOD's forgiveness, then that is between GOD and Saddam. If Saddam does not ask GOD for forgiveness, then he will see GOD's former Archangle -- Lucifer.

Absolutely! Death penalty for these fools will stop future despots and murderers. Right. Look at how well the Nuremberg and Tokyo trials showed all of the dictators in the postwar period that killing was wrong. Oh, wait......
