So many people on here talk about how they hate Bush, but he WAS re-elected, wasn't he? My son just got out of the army after 4 years. He did 2 years in Iraq, was hit by an IED, and lost 3 very good friends. At re-election time, guess who he voted for? And by what he told me, most in the military voted for Bush. I have to say I am not a Bush lover, but I don't like seeing him being compared to much to Saddam. There is no comparison here. And guess what? In two years we will have elected another person to take his place, and you can bet that whoever it is will be hated for somethings they do too. Just a comment.

I know my son storngly feels that troops need to stay in Iraq until the job is finished. Don't get me wrong, he didn't like being there at all, but he feels ,as do most troops, they are there on a mission, and that mission needs to be completed. He says you have to be there to really understand what is going on there. He refuses to watch the news here, because he says it is not accurate, and way overdone. I know he and others feel that we really do need more troops there, and that is because there are not enough of them there now to do the job, and they need the help. Thank you all for your comments and good wishes. I pray for all of you military families for your loved ones to return safe. Happy new year.

I would not vote for someone who will invade a sovereign nation without provocation. There are lots of evil people in the world, but I do not look at it as my mission to kill them. What if I am wrong? What would I say to mothers like you?

I voted for him, twice.
There is a good reason why your son voted for President Bush. He understood the consequences of electing someone of John Kerrys stature to the White House. I am not saying that every policy that President Bush has implemented has been the right policy or that I support all of his decisions but I do support him as our Commander in Chief.
Your son obviousy has insight into what is happening that most people here (myself included) can't even begin to comprehend. People on this site need to hear what your son has to say. Not that they will listen but hopefully it will make them think twice how they use their priviledge to communicate on this website more seriously and more responsibly.
If I had the ability, I would ask your son three questions. Regardless of the news we see coming out of Iraq today, based on his interactions with the Iraqi people did we do the right thing by going into Iraq. Based on his knowledge does he feel that the troops still serving in Iraq feel we should pull out of Iraq before the country is stable. What will it take to stabilize Iraq.
Thank your son for me, please, and Thank You for raising such an honorable young man.

As a military wife I extend my gratitude to your son for his sacrifices he made for a country that he believes in. Also, thank you for being a military mom.. it's very hard to see your child go through that. Not all military vote Republican but many do because that is the side that supports the military more. No one should compare Bush to Saddam because that is wrong and while people like to take jabs at the President I think it gross to accuse him of things that he has never done. These people saying some of the things that they are saying about Bush tonight really are over stepping their right to free speech.

I voted for Mr. Bush and have no shame for it. I felt given the circumstances and choices available that he was the right one. The Saddam posts coming today are just attempts to further drive the hate agenda possessed by many on the left for Mr. Bush. You seem to be more moderate and honest in your opinions and I commend you for that. There are definitely things not to like about Mr. Bush, but comparing our leader to a genocidal madman is just shameful.

No matter how stupid I think the reasoning behind going to war is, I have to agree that Bush is different from Saddam. Saddam did not just kill people for being violent, he killed people for not thinking like him. Anyone who opposed him in any way, perceived or real, disappeared. He attempted genocide on the Kurd's and killed hundreds of innocent civilians, not even in cross fire, just killed them, based on the fact that they were of the same clan that tried to assassinate him.
I don't like Bush, and I think he is screwing a lot of things up (talking about in the US) and he has said things that I feel are wrong, but I don't know of any time that he has randomly started killing shiites just because they called him a name.

I agree with you all of these stupid idiots comparing Bush to Saddam wouold be the first to say nuke iraq if we were to get nuked ourselves. What people don trealize is that we need to show that those countries cant just do what they want. in reality if we were to enforce all of the UN laws we would go to war against most middle eastern countries and south korea and Cuba and Darfur and so on and so forth. Just because we show some iniciatve and dont loet those terrorist supporting countries build ip momentum were the bad guys. But whe the **** hits the fan, whose the ones they come running for.

I agree!! He's nowhere near Sadaam.. They know that as well.. It's just retarded logic trying to bring him down even when this should be a good day for both Dems and Reps. Personally, I don't get it.. I don't like what Bush has done either, but we should at least be able to give him credit on a great day such as this one. Tomorrow is another day.. Give it a rest for a little bit.. Sheesh!!

Have any of you people here bothered to research the real George W. Bush? He is a charlatan and a fraud who has used religion as a means to an end. His ignorance is exceeded only by his arrogance. And now his incompetence has proven to be his undoing. I predict that future historians will pronounce him to be one of the worst presidents in US history.
