First off if you read up on it WE didn't kill him. American's didn't take part in any of it. It was all lead by the Iraqi's. Second if he were just imprisoned for life, the millions of people who lost someone to his torture would still have to live with the thought of him possibly becoming free. I won't go into more detail but there are so many reasons he should not have been imprisoned for life. Anyone else want to elaborate on that one more?

LMAO OKAY THE "NEW IRAQI GOVERNMENT" EXECUTED SADDAM!!!! NOT THE UNITED STATES! LOL! DOES ANYONE KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE "NEW IRAQI GOVERNMENT" AND THE UNITED STATES???!!! SERIOUSLY! WE ARE THE NEW IRAQI GOVERNMENT, WHERE HAVE YOU PEOPLE BEEN???? I am so ashamed.

Also just to set things straight Saddam didn't have anything to do with 9/11, they gave up on that one a Loooooong. So I wish people would quit saying that, it makes us sound extremely ignorant.

And just to answer your question I don't know why they needed to kill him, I do know that he deserved life in prison or much much worse, but I suppose Pres. Bush (being from the great state of Texas and all) had to have him executed.

For orchestrating the murder of thousands of Americans ( 9/11) and so many more wars in the Middle East... You imprison a one-time murderer or any criminal but he arranged for many mass-murders... He does't deserve to sit in a prison cell with a tv and a good meal every day... I,m having a hard time with the execution itself but it's pretty much the only thing he deserves... Althought it's going to cause retaliation...

Ralph, saddam was a very brutal man,he commited alot of crimes against humanity by mass killings and being a dictator.during his court sessions he would be very disrespectful to the world(esp america)and would even insult the judge procceding the hearings. To be honest with you,i would have prefered so other punishment other than that, but it doesnt help crying over spilt milk right?hope i answered your question.

If you think the the USA had nothing to do with killing Saddam then you must not be very wise. I think they shold have imprisioned him for life as well. Plus - if the Kurds tried to kill George Bush or Blair - like they tried to Kill Saddam - 1000s more of them would die!
