I think it was for a number of reasons - firstly, he believed he was dying a martyr, for the sake of his followers, and he was proud to die for them. He had nothing left to live for, remember - had he not been hanged, he would have spent the rest of his life in jail anyway, so he was probably glad to have a way out of it. I would guess that had he not been sentenced with the death penalty, he would have tried to commit suicide at some point. And finally, he was a dictator, someone who shows absolutely no compassion towards anyone or anything. He would have had to be immensely strong over the years to be able to do all those things to innocent people without it affecting him, and I'm sure he could therefore have stopped himelf from crying when faced with the gallows.

I think it is because he has a cruel heart. Why would a man who could kill so many people and not care break down and cry? He wanted to be a martyr and by looking death in the face like this he will become one. I guess he was either at peace with himself or he was just a heartless man.

Why would he? I wouldn't. Even if I were set up like he was during gulf war 1. We put him in power to keep his countrymen down so we could control his oil
back in the 70's and make him rich in the mean time. He was our man. He told our ambassador Gillespie that he was gonna invade Kuwait . She told him the US stance was that thats your business not ours. So he does it and we go in and have a war with him. ( SET UP) I heard this all from a republican congressman who was on a fact finding mission to Middle east at the time.
According to Saddam , he thought he was doing right by us. I wouldn't cry, no, I would feel betrayed by my friends Bush and Rumsfeld.

I think that hanging is a very shameful way to die, especially if it was where he had done so many himself. He is a man and needed some sort of dignity (even in his own mind) or bravery Although we found him hiding in a hole.

He knew he was going to die and he wanted to leave the world seeing him as a badass. For **** sakes he was a dictator, but you got to realize he was holding in tears.
