It's conservatives that want to keep information about sex and contraception away from young people, in stark contrast to the Netherlands, whose teen pregnancy rate is 11% that of the USA. To put it another way, the US rate is 9x higher than the Netherlands, where they are open about such matters.

Both liberals and conservatives can be "open minded".
However, by definition, Liberals are more "open to change".

Yes, they are generally considered to be so.
Now then, I attended UC Santa Cruz--a place so liberal it went Nader in 2000--and I have to tell you that I'd never met such close-minded people in my life.
I've found that both sides are wont to be close-minded, which is sad... the only thing that's more frustrating about liberals is that they tend to lay claim to the "open-minded" and "tolerant" labels when, in truth, they're just as intolerant and close-minded as those from whom they distance themselves.

Liberals consider themselves more open minded than everyone, this includes moderates. They believe their policies are the only correct course and anyone who disagrees is uninformed or a sheep. This theme is presented constantly in their statements and posts. If you disagree you run the risk of being branded unintelligent, a fascist, a follower, a racist, intolerant or whatever other dismissive epithet they can generate at the time. It is sad because not all liberal policy is bad, but when you attempt to stifle all debate all reason is lost.

they are "considered" to be such, but anyone who has an extreme view (left or right) that they fervently believe in is likely to be close-minded, at least to anyone trying to change their point of view.
