I agree with you.

It's no that I love Saddam or find what he did justifiable. It's just ironic that Mr. Bush and Mr. Blair, who in my eyes are not very different than Saddam, decide on Iraqis' well-being. Why not let Iraqi people decide on their country's issues?

Oh well, they're stupid people and they need smart and good people for them to decide on their well-being. Now, Iraqi people aren't getting killed anymore.

For the bloodthirsty people, I find it necessary to note;

Being against Saddam's execution doesn't mean being for Saddam. But as you're all so bloodthirsty and inhumane to rejoice in another person's death, I'm quite scared of you.

I agree with you. The execution is nothing but political grandstanding at this point.
First of all, Saddam Hussein should have been tried by the international human rights tribunal in Brussels. If you're trying to instill a people with ideas like due process, justice and the rule of law, you don't try a political leader in time of war - it sends all the wrong messages.
Second, Saddam hasn't been in power for over two years. He is not responsible for the violence that is happening now, and his execution will do nothing to stem it. If anything, it will throw oil on the fire.
Third, Saddam did not declare war on the United States. The man who took that decision is the one responsible for all the suffering endured by American families. The number of U.S. fatalities recently surpassed the number of 9/11 victims and the alleged reasons to go to war have fallen one by one like so many dominoes. This is not Saddam's fault.
Yes, Saddam Hussein was a terrible man - but most of the things Americans accuse him off he's simply not responsible for. He's not responsible for the war, the insurgency, or 9/11. Plus, his execution is a minor event. It won't change squat in Iraq at this point.

I don't know Kelly, and i don't wish to see the thing even on live tele show.

i feel the same either
and really don't think it's important AT ALL to sentenced him to death.
It would NOT bring anybody he has killed in the past back to LIVE. So i really don't get it why was U.S so eager getting him to the DEATH sentence... every human being is going to die anyway... it's just about time and yet Saddam Hussein won't take long thou.. (he's old)

The war will erupt once more? It hasn't stopped. Saddam was dead the day he shook George H W Bushes hand in friendship and had tea with him back in the eighties. He just didn't know it yet.

Kelly, read my other response on this Saddam crap.
There will be a short surge in fighting, but our guys will persevere as always.

You kidding right? Life in prison with the damn ACLU and INT. Red Cross and Humane Mo'fos demanding to see him? Talking and babbling, ranting and possibly sending messages to his peeps? Are you that ignorant? The butcher is dead, the only message he can send from the grave is a warning to get off your high-horse.

Look lady... in our country Iraq, people used to hanged, executed, especially after spread of Islamic values of death squads and execution.. so of course, they at no time will think that execution is bad even for dictator... like our PM Maliki was in rush to do it, like sort of a revenge, he said if someone against the execution is against Saddam victims...very stupid comment by PM.. but that's mind set of our government. . is an islamic government that never value human rights. that's the reality, those guys at our government were parts of terrorists organizations, they never believe in western or free democracy, they believe in Islamic monarchy,

But, today they talk about democracy, believe they don't mean it. now they tell us how nice they are, they did not humiliate Saddam. well, they did not , because he was in custody of Americans.. that's the only reason I can think of..otherwise they gonna do what they usually do in prisons...

Saddam is murderer and deserve what he got... but I m against execution and this kind of revenge way and government interfering in the court... in addition, the government figures involve alot in crimes formerly and probably now. Al-Daawa party wanted to cop saddam and also brutally rule Iraq, what's the difference!!

I agree with you Kelly. It saddens me and the reasons of a phony trial that were given means that most world leaders are responsible for the same reasons why are they not being put to death?
The ramifications of this will be felt by the perpetrators who played God in Saddam Hussein's murder.

they kill him because of killing 142 one in 'djeel' in 1982 -i'm not sur if he did- but now the average of the killings is more than 100 per day.that does not make sense to me at all.
the trail was a joke .and the excution is the worst fault ever.

He is indeed dead. But i don't see what positive effect will his execution bring. His execution won't stop the unrest in Iraq. Maybe it was just America's way of showing that they are powerful. I still believe that hanging him was wrong. Capital Punishment has no place in the 21st century.
