Since you are asking this in the Newborn & Infant part of Answers, I am taking it that you are asking about picking up a baby at night? If you are, here is my take on it...
My husband and I took turns. I didn't breast-feed so he could get up with my sons just as well as I could. It is only fair and is good for the baby to be cared for by both parents.

I don't really know because I was watching my kitchen sink and when I opened the refrigerator door I saw the butter fly I called my friend Pete Moss but he was out with Jack Hammer well I finally got a hold of Phil Harmonic and he said that I best lay off the vino for a while.

I always picked up my daughter when she cried at night - but that is because she was breastfeeding. Many times my husband came with me, and he would change her diaper before I breastfed. Now that she is a toddler and not usually getting up at night, whichever one of us that hears her first will go in if she does actually wake up.
