Because killing as public policy is the wrong message to send. It is the wrong thing to do, if feels wrong, and you are right to be upset. If it is ok for us to go into a country and hang the President, then it follows that it is perfectly ok for any country to do that to Bush, including this one.

There's nothing wrong with you, I too am neither christian nor catholic, yet it bothers me to think that a man, like many others has been killed, and for what reason? perhaps this is what upsets you too?
As you mention we may not have the easily accesed, revealed principles of a religion to apply to the situation, but still search for a ordering principles for the world around us. I then wonder on what basis have 'we' or 'they' killed this man.
The answer given is that he killed..... 'we kill killers' would be the justification from the lips of the man pulling the rope...... ..and this upsets me, I hope that if I am wrong in feeling this.....something is wrong with you, I hope something is wrong with a lot of people....

Any pious and peace loving human being to whatever religion he or she may belong will feel the same way as you did. Showing the hanging in the TV is sadism and inhuman. It did affect children and already there is a news that a boy playful hanged himself like Saddam and died. Those who released the hanging video clip in the mass media are to be punished.

But you are a human being with a tender heart and know that taking of any life is wrong. That is why you feel terrible. Not having any religion does not help you to succumb this feeling. That is why believing in God and understanding why people suffer the way they suffer helps you to be not depressed with such incidents.

Humanity in you is what is making you upset. (You feel for someone so deeply that you get upset when you see any injustice being done.) There is nothing wrong with this. On the contrary, I think it is a good quality. At least as long as you do not do anything rash when you are upset.

Because you loved him for internal affection as a policy matter. You have some idea and principles and when you felt that there is another person whose actions match to your ideas, you got a fantacy. It is quite natural and nothing wrong with you. If you become inspired at something and your hair stood up, quite naturally you would ask why am I aroused at this or that> Quite natural.

You are human! And I don't think that anyone who can truly feel their humanity can enjoy the death of another.
