i dont have a router....i have wireless adapters on both laptops...i want to transfer some songs wirelessly.......if not, can i do it thru a LAN cable without using a router?

Yes, you can use a cross-over ethernet cable, which is different than a standard straight-through cable. Connect the two laptops via the ethernet cable and you will be networked. Assuming both computers have the same workgroup name, you should see each other's computers in My Network Places. Enable file sharing and share a folder to transfer files.

Of course, it's probably alot easier if you could burn these files on a USB drive or blank CD.

You could try using an LAN Cable, but i don't know if it'll work. you will prolly need a wireless router if you don't have one already. If you do, then set up wireless networks thru "My Network Settings"
