It's strange to feel this way, because I KNOW he was a mass murderer, but I sort of feel like another death will not make up for anything, and that all loss of life is just that: a loss. Maybe he should have had to stick around until he repented, or said something that could help in the current situation.
I know that I do feel it was not up to the US to topple him and to hunt him down. If his countrymen hated him so much, it was up to them to get rid of him.

I know that many Iraqis who hated him still think that they were better off with him than with the present situation--a crazy dictator is a menace, and hard to live with, but this constant warring of different factions, suicide bombers around every corner, the US military "popping" anyone they "suspect"---well, that has to be even more difficult to "live" with (and that's IF you continue to LIVE, which many, many Iraqis are NOT).

I fear retaliation from "friends" of Saddam also.

It's time to move on. He's dead and I don't give a damn. What I do give a damn about is 3,000 American troops killed. Those deaths are the ones to mourn. Saddam is just the flotsam of history. 3,000 troops are part of our future taken away.

It is sad that in this time there are still some primitive countries which allow death penalties. It is primitive and unacceptable for many inlighted people. What is different with Saddam's death? Nothing.

We will pay for it in the short run over here, with longer and harder missions and considerable more risk.

In the end it will settle down as most of these people TRULY hated Saddam.

It is the foreigners from Iran and Syria that idolized him.
Less than 10% of his people really liked him to begin with.

nicely, I rather agree and rather do no longer. enable me clarify. at the beginning, he replaced into killed on the 1st easy of a considered necessary Muslim occasion, 2d, he replaced right into someone that replaced into performed like human beings have been killed in the midsection a while. so a procedures as i've got heard on CNN, a convicted criminal in Irak has the suitable to compliment the way he's to be performed and he decide directly to be shot, yet they did no longer appreciate his wish and he replaced into hung. additionally i've got heard the government refuse to return his physique to the family members and that they like to burry him in a secret place as they do no longer decide on his grave to alter right into a place of pilgrimige in an prolonged time. With those i do no longer agree. yet he replaced right into a killer, he replaced right into a torturer and he knowledgeable his sons to be in basic terms like him. He killed his very own son-in-regulation in basic terms because of the fact he dissagreed. To sum up, many people who die diserve to stay and a great type of that stay need to die yet who're we to place justice and supply existence or dying to somebody, in basic terms God, Allah, however you may call Him, has the suitable to settle on who's to die or stay, no longer a mear sinner.
