My adult cat does the same thing. She was fixed at 4 months old. So I know my cat isnt in heat. She stands on the kitchen table meowing but, it sounds like a baby or small child crying... She normally does it when she is hungry. Almost every time I hear her do it and walk into the kitchen... her food bowl is empty or almost empty. It is their way of telling us what they need. pay attention to where your cat does this at. If it is around the litterbox area, maybe it needs cleaning out. Good luck

Cats meow to get human attention. Except from mother to kitten cats rarely meow to one another. Occasional meowing is cute and adorable but excessive meowing can be a problem. As with most behavioral problems there is always the underlying possibility that it stems from some physical ailment. It is important to rule this out before treating any behavioral problem.

The first rule of thumb is do not respond directly to the cat’s meowing. The cat is doing this to get your attention.

If that does not work, you can try
Squirting – Have a spray bottle ready and when your cat meows . Have the squirt bottle with you At the very next meow, spray the cat The cat will learn to associate this behaviour with a squirting.
This worked with our cat (to stop one of its behaviors) and it was my sister who has a degree in psychology who thought of doing this. Good luck.

i have the same problem...it won't leave my family alone. Its not our cat but its always around our house, like outside or in the garage. It will let you pet it and will come when you call it, but it constantly meows. its so annoying, we thought about killing it, but didn't. Anyways i wish i could help but, really i need the advice too.

I think your cat is in heat. A spray bottle will get it to stop for a while but then it will start again. Endure this time period and then get it spayed.

Put some tuna out somewhere else, like 3 doors down from your crib.

Yes, she is in heat (if it is a female.) They will do STRANGE things.

Definitely get her spayed!

If it is a male then there is probably a female close by that is in heat. He is just acting on his instincts!

Definitely get him neutered!
