Even though he was so horrible, there's part of me that feels compassion. Is this normal? It's like deep down inside I ask myself "Why? why did you have to choose to be such a bad man?" I just saw the video on CNN when he's about to be hanged and it just makes me sad, but I also understand that he had to be punished for all the atrocities he committed.

I wonder that too, and I don't know if we will ever fully understand. Some people are born with brain damage that makes them lack a conscience. Yet most of these people will never make much of themselves, just lead messed up lives and end up in jail. I don't understand how such a destructive person could rise to so much power, yet it has happened many times in history.

I don't know, but I kind of feel the same way. I mean, I know he did some horrible, horrible things for which he deserved to be punished, but at the same time, it all seems like such a senseless tragedy of his own making. Obviously, he had to have some skills (besides a knack for murder, etc.) to rise to power, so why did he have to waste it by making such astrocious choices in his life? Maybe that's the key - that he wasted his life on bad choices. That's always sad to witness, no matter who it is....

You feel sorry because you are compassionate. Now you should feel sorry because America has become just as corrupt and evil as Saddam. Saddam comitted his atrocities during the 1980's and Bush the liar claims the US went to punish him. Too late Bush..if you were honest and really concerned you'd go to Darfur where they are killing hundreds of thousands RIGHT NOW.

Is this what they mean when the call someone a "terrorist sympathiser?" Hahahahahahaha!

Huh? He didn't commit terrorism? Oh. Well, nevermind, then. Nah, you're normal, it's good to empathize with another human being. It's the looneys above me that I'm worried about.

He deserved to die, but I honestly couldnt imagine someone dying without some feeling at all.

No one wants to die, yet we all know we will someday. Knowing that someone died is like the last paragraph of a novel and now its over. All you can do is read it again(as in, researching the history of someones life)

It is a very sad and confusing emotion, but if his death meant sparing the life of many, many others, then it had to be done.

There is nothing wrong with having compassion for another human life. I believe in justice and believe he deserves capital punishment. God Himself would rather see any person's heart changed, though He doesn't necessarily spare people from the consequences of their choices. You have the right attitude.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. What about all the people he killed. I think , if someone one can take a human life, like Saddam Hussein did. He should be killed.

It does me too. I do not know why they are feeling the need to show how he died. Isn't it good enough to know that he died instead of showing them tying a rope arounf his neck.

I know he done so many things wrong, killed and so much more and i guess you would say he got what he deserved but my god people should not be showing those images of him getting ready to die.
Do you think that people would like it if he was apart of their family and seeing that video they are so proudly displaying on tv being hung?

That is good means you are not prone to act as he did. I feel that way too. He is a human being even if sorry specimen of one.
