First of all you take a deck of cards and shuffle in front of your volunteer making sure you take note of the last card at the bottom (Be Discreet) and then ask them to pick the card at the top (pretend the card at the top is the one you saw at the bottom) and ask them like this. Lets say the card the bottom is Queen of spades. Ask them to give you a queen of spades from the top of the deck (they shouldn't look at the card but pick it and pass it to you). then look at that card and ask them to give you that card from the middle e.g the card at the top is a joker ask them to give you a joker from the middle. and then look at the card from the middle and ask them to give you that card from the bottom e.g King of Hearts is at the middle ask them to give you a King of Hearts from the bottom (Again never let them see the card. just tell them not to look at it and pass it to you) then finally tell them to remember the cards you asked for. if you've done it properly you should have all those cards.

Grab 21 cards from the deck. Ask a friend to pick any card from the deck, place it back in the deck, and even have him/her shuffle the deck.

What you're going to do is now create three columns of cards, face up, one at a time. The first card face up goes in the first column, the second card face up goes in the second column, the third card face up goes in the third column, and then the FOURTH card would go in the first column, 5th in second, 6th in third, and so forth... until all the cards have been dropped.

You then ask your friend, "Which column is your card in?" (first, middle, or last). Whichever column your friend picks, gather that column SECOND. For instance, suppose your friend says that the card is in the first column; you would "scoop" the second column (without changing the order of the cards), scoop the first column, placing it ON TOP of the initial scooping of cards, and then the last column on top of that.

Repeat this a second time, and ask what column your friend's card is in. Again, scoop the selected column second.

Repeat this for a last time, and scoop appropriately.

Now, at this point, start tossing the cards on the table, keeping your eye on the 11th card tossed. What you want to do is pick up that 11th card and ask your friend if that's the card... it should be!! The 11th card will definitely be the one your friend initially chose (provided your friend was telling the truth of what row your card was in).
