First of all, I agree and am glad that this part of the Iraqi history is at a close but there are some issues that bother me about this whole thing.
I'm in Baghdad, currently. As I came to the office, the Imams were going nuts on the loudspeakers. I know that the mosques outside my walls are Sunni for the most part but I also know in talking to them that they just want this to be over.
I learned there is more to this than I thought. Today starts a Sunni Holy Day. It is against Islam to carry out an executlon during a Holy Day. The Shiites begin thier celebrations tomorrow. This was the Shiite government's way of degrading the Sunnis.
I completely agree with the sentence but the intent in which it was carried out was vile. As bad as the US and Coalition Forces want peace, the Shiites want nothing but revenge.

That particular murdering tyrant may be dead, but another will quickly step up to take his place.
I don't believe that with the death of Saddam Hussein, there is no more evil. There will always be evil in the world, and will be for as long as there is good, because, unfortunately, both only exist because of the other. If there was no evil, and never had been, we wouldn't have the concept of 'good' because we would have nothing to compare our actions to, and it's the same with evil. Therefore, neither can live without the other...

Hmmm. I think it's fantastic that he can no longer hurt anyone, but I'm not sure if killing him was the right thing to do. It's kind of ironic, isn't it? He killed countless numbers of people, and his life ends with people killing him. Seems justified, but is it really right to kill someone, whether they were totally evil or not?

Saddam orchestrated a lot of bad things but he didnt do them on his own - he had henchmen and supporters carrying out his dirty deeds for him. So just because he's dead doesn't mean there wont be people wanting to carry out his work.

We should take a poll in Iraq to decide if the day is wonderful or sinful.... I have no idea whether the punisher is right or the punishment is right or the punished is right or not!!

I do not think he suffered enough- when looking at all the pain & suffering he caused. As for Saddam Hussein having loved ones who's feeling should be considered? Sorry, if they cared for him they thought like him. Well said anyway!!!!

I'm not so sure. Who has the right to take anothers life? We are condemning Saddam for doing EXACTLY what we have done. Taking life.
