Wasim Akram is the Highest wicket taker in history of World Cup cricket.He took 55 wickets in 38 matches. His best performence being 5/28.He conceded 1311 runs in 1947 balls. His average has been 23.83 means he struck atleast a wicket in every 24th ball he bowled.

At a single world cup, I think it still might be the great man Geoff Allott of NZ, who was on fire in '99
Akram has the most world cup wickets total, and most in a single wc is... Vaas of SL with 23, Lee 22, Mcgrath 21 (all 2003) and Allott and Warne with 20 in 4th place
