Get to the hospital.
You never know.
If it's broken, they will check that the bone is in the right place for mending, and lend you crutches if you need them.

The only way off finding out if you have a fracture is by having a x-ray,yes you may have just bruised the toe,but you should get this checked out as this needs to be treated with the right treatment. There isnt alot we do for fractured toes these toes, but htis does all depends on the fracture itself, when the fracture is just a hairline fracture we tape the two toes together, and see the patient again in 4-6 wks,but if the fracture is displaced,a operation is the the answer. So please go to your nearest A/E Dept and get your toe checked out.Good Luck

the hospitals in the uk dont tend to do much with broken toes, prob because there is not that much they can do, it usually involves a splint and bandage, my advice, and iv been there, is a lolly pop stick clean, between the two toes and a strong bandage, paracetamol for the pain and rest if you can when you can, it should get better by then, well less painfull, of course if your in the uk, ring nhs direct on 08454647 good luck esp with the little ones lol kids that is

Toes are a hard one........even if it is broke they usually don't do anything for them because of where they are at....if it is the longer bones going up to the ankle then that probably could be a different scenario....can you bend it at all do you feel any what they call crepitus sounds....like grinding sounds....that usually means bone on bone.....I would tape the toes together for support and wear something very comfortable and elevate and ice.....Tylenol for pain / ibuprofen too for the swelling....

I did this once, a good neighbour who happens to be an A & E consultant said it probably was broken, but impossible to be sure without an x-ray. He also told me not to bother much with attending A & E, as even if it was broken all they would do was tape it up with the one next to it as a splint. Just a case of taking pain-killers while keeping the foot up as much as possible and letting nature take its course.

Even if it is broken there is nothing to be done! You must just leave it unbandaged - this was the advice myself and a friend were given-not to bandage- and it will heal itself. Take neurofen for the pain and if it is broken it will take a few weeks to heal but nothing can be done with broken toes. Good luck

Best get it checked out if you are in lots of pain but you could always ring NHS direct who can get a nurse to diagnose you over the phone by asking some questions. This may prevent the need to go to A&E if they think it is not broken.

tape the toe to the other toe for a while and take some alieve or something like that and go to the Dr but in the long run they really can not do anything for a broke toe and will tell you to tape it to another toe

hard to say w/o x rays...but just to let you know...they do not really do much other than tape that toe to the next one to act as a splint...ice and elevate and try to stay off of it...(good luck with 2 in tow)
