hey there hope u had a good xmas and looking forward to the new year , ok i used to have sleep difficulties heres some ways that worked for me helping me to be tired .
lie in bed and read a book keep your mind active as it helps you become more tired
drink a hot drink before bed (horlicks or hot choclate works for me)
use a incense stick or burner with the aroma of lavender
(candles are ok but be careful you put them out )
have a hot shower and masage ure body using a body brush u will feel very relaxed
make sure u eat properly as this will help you get a better sleep at night
most important thing is exercise make sure u do some even if only light
another u cud try is going to bed around the same time every night weather you seem tired or not your body will soon become accustomed to it ..
also try get sum lavender spray and spray ure pillows :) trust me it helps
i wish you the best of luck and hope you get a betters nights sleep

Try some sleeping pills...if you don't want to take that, eat lots of turkey! Turkey has this thing called tryptophan which makes you very sleepy. You can buy concentrated pills at health food stores. It's more natural than sleeping pills you find at local drug stores!
Tryptophan information found at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tryptophan
I hope you'll be able to have good night sleep soon! If this doesn't work well, you should think about going to go see a doctor! You might have a sleeping disorder and they could help you. Good luck!

It depends on what you think the cause is. do you have something on your mind? If so, it sounds tacky but write it down and keep a pad by your bed to put the thought down there or talk to someone about it (perhaps someone completely impartial). Then you have the usual textbook solutions- watch your caffeine and alcohol intake, have a milky drink and a bath before bed and a good calm down period before trying to sleep.
However, I find the easiest way to get to sleep is to try to stay awake and watch a long film you have seen loads before. One of the lord of the rings trilogy usually works for me - I know it back to front so I do not feel I am missing anything if I shut my eyes and by 3 hours I am usually sound asleep!!
Hope this helps but worrying about not being able to sleep may also contribute to the insomnia (easier said than done - i know)
Good luck and sweet dreams!

I had this problem last year.
I downloaded (if you know what I mean) a audio book collection by Anthony Robbins who is one of the best motivational coaches in the world.
Not only will you fall asleep but in the mourning you will feel unbelievable assertive and this will subconsciously programme your mind to work better than ever. Just try it!

I posted a question about this a few months ago, dont drink any caffeine before bed, read a book till you fall asleep, if you are ont the couch dont move, just fall asleep there. If you are asleep and wake up suddenly DONT MOVE close your eyes again and lie still. Drink warm milk if you decide to get up. Dont drink anything before you have to go to bed otherwise youll be up at all kinds of crazy hours having to go to the bathroom. good luck

Avoid overeating, watching horror movies, reading horror books, thinking too much of something, hence do a littele bit of exercises. I mean just light exercise. And finally take a warm bath
