I had to ask this question because i know so many women that like rappers even though a lot of the rappers degrade women in their songs by calling them bi#ches and hoes and sluts. What is it about these rappers that you like even though they disrespect and degrade you? I'm just curious. I'm not a big fan of rap or a fan of degrading and putting down women.

No, I do not get offended. They aren't talking about me personally. They are talking about bitches, hoes and sluts and I am neither of those things!

I'm not offended because I am not a slut or hoe. I know that I am educated and smart. That I will never be viewed as such by my friends. If I feel that they I felt disrespected in any way I would not listen to that song, I would not just X the artist from what I listen to either. I don't just listen to rap. I listen to pop, rock, oldies, everything... the fact that its always rap being pointed out for whats in their music for disrespecting somebody is just false and continuously annoying.

The reason why it doesn't bother me is because I know they are not talking about me. Honestly some women set themselves up to be called those names because of their actions. ( video hoes and such)I know that I'm not a slut or a hoe so i can listen to the music and not be offended.

Any woman who thinks it is okay to hear these songs ought to go stand on a corner and make a living as they are missing their calling. It is insulting and even if men think it is cool then that shows you the total disregard they have for women. I think that it is demeaning and anyone can rap whatever they please in the name of art, which this is NOT.
I am tired of this all but there is not much worth that is new to listen to or even see. Television offers yet another way to demean women and sadly I am thinking that the younger generation of women see this and think it is normal. Whatever happened to the good old music that sang of love and the good old shows that showed loving families?

well, its just for image purposes, you cant act like a pimp and have respect for women. The only thing i can state, as a woman, is that i know that not all women are hoes, its for image only that they do this, and i guess you would have to be a hoe, or a slut to be offended....or a feminist.

Yeah, that's why I don't like listening to most of the rap music. I just don't like how they treat women in their songs...
Not all of the rap music are like this though...some of them are clean.

My wife both does not like, and cannot understand the meaning of the words in rap music. She is not used to that accent.
