He is in South Carolina, deteriorating mentally on a daily basis. He has lost his home, is unemployed, and seems to dedicate every waking moment to harassing her via emails and offline messages. He posts nasty away messages. He has threatened to kill her, myself, and the other person who rescued her from her unhappy life with him. They have a child in common. That child is doing well in Illinois, although the nutball in SC would swear he is miserable. Any ideas on how to drum into this guys head that it is over, and that if he thinks he is still viable as a parent, after the past year....to pursue it on a legal front? Any legal ideas are so welcome.

Everyone involved is hoping he stays away. However, with his past record, I would hope that visitation would be supervised.

This is so sad. My heart breaks for this woman and her children. One needs to call the police and get a victim's advocacy started. Call the courts make a fuss, call your elected representative. This would not be the first case of femicide and it is time that someone stands up and says this is enough. Get your congressperson involved. Well, there is one thing going in her and your favor; if the idiot is sending nasty messages to her via email and offline messaging- you will have proof that he is harassing her and that is against the law. Her next step would be to contact the police and get a restraining order against the lunatic. If he is truly deteriorating mentally, you guys needs to speak with the police tomorrow; do not delay. You are thinking he is in SC, but that does not mean he is going to stay there- he could pop up at any moment. It would be better to be safe than sorry. I would also make copies of the emails and do not delete them from your computer- it might be just the right evidence to keep him away from the child- worst case scenario would be he may try to harm the child to get revenge on the Mom. umm heres a clue why doesnt she get a new email under a another name so he cant find her....change her phone numbers and lose all contact....if she wants him to leave her alone posting all this **** on the net is going to make it worse.....if she is so in fear of her life why doesnt she just isolate herself from it...stop gettin on the stuipd computer and puttin up with his ****...they guy is insane there are other ways to go about this visit a crisis center they can help...get this ****** before he gets you ..for crying out loud quit postin **** like this cuz it makes it worse. I feel bad for this woman cuz i coudlnt even imagine what shes going through but i think shes going about it the wrong way.STOP ENCOURING HIM...if he knows u read all that junk he sends you hes just going to send more..drop all communications...and the email thing thats HARASSMENT i dont care who u are you need to go to the cops! before he really does lose his marbles and comes after you and DJ think of DJ!!!! dont let him get to you lots of people grow up without a father if DJ doesnt understand now he will later in life..plz find someway to get this bastard...men like him need to be locked away in a mental asylum not scaring the bajeezes out of their exs.

she needs to keep records, she needs to bring it up to the police that he is stalking her..she needs a protection order.
If truely he has threatened to kill you, her that is a big red flag to call the polilce..
I would be very concerned about visitation and the child's welbeing..I would fear that he would harm the child..
