Who here thinks that Harry Potter is getting really tiring and has been stretched out way too far? I liked the books and movies at first, but frankly, the movies ruin the books, and after the first four, the books went sour too! The fourth movie was absolutely terrible, and I couldn't even get through the sixth book without falling asleep! People have been entranced by the growing popularity into thinking that they like the movies even though they stink. JK Whateverhenameis has ruined her beloved books by her overswelling head and pockets. Does anyone agree with me?

another thing that ruined the books is that everything got so goddamn DARK its like really, it started appealing to kids, and now this! EVERYONE dies and nothing remotely happy is in nither the fifth or sixth book. Jeez, nice way to depress your readers.

I'm inclined to agree with you about the movies even tho I'm excited as all heck to see OotP come this summer.

As for the books, while HBP wasn't the best one so far, I think they're still a great series and what the hell, there's only one more book to go. You don't have to suffer all that much longer and if you feel that strongly.. hmm.. well.. gee.. how about, don't read the books or watch the movies anymore? That'd work.

As for the OotP and HBP being so dark and the books being depressing; yeah, I'm pretty sure that there have been deaths since the very first book and "before" as well. If you like books about joyful little elves that live happily ever after or whatever then those are the books you should be reading.

It's like reading A Series of Unfortunate Events and saying "geez, these books are so dark, nothing but bad stuff happens!"

Since the begining of the HP series there's always been a very dark underlying feeling there. Here's a kid who lives with his aunt and uncle and cousin because his parents were murdered, he's treated horribly by the only family he knows, he's bullied, malnutritioned, has to sleep in the cupboard under the stairs and doesn't even get birthday love from his family, makes an enemy right off the bat at his new school, encounters a three headed dog that'd like nothing more than to bite his head off, is almost killed by a plant called "devil's snare" and a troll, almost gets killed by some creature that's just killed a unicorn, all in the first book and you expect the rest of the series to be happy go lucky joy filled books?

I agree that the movies dont live up to the books. But I T-O-T-A-L-L-Y D-I-S-A-G-R-E-E with you that the books are not good. Harry Potter is without doubt T-H-E B-E-S-T B-O-O-K E-V-E-R written. Seems like something quite wrong with you. You should learn to appreciate books. Perhaps you dont know how to read a book properly. You are not doing jusrice to Harry Potter.
Nothing remotely happy? Well what did you excpect, a cinderella story? A fairytale? May I remind you that it is a series? I dont care if you report me.Bible is certainly the most reliable and the actual book of God. What is in Harry Potter that is satanic, i wonder.

Some people tend to think that Harry Potter is Satanic. How can they know?
Well, they say that to know a person, you have to think like the person. I wonder... I have been a Harry Potter fan for the past few years and it has done me no harm. Some people compare Bible to Harry Potter. I wonder why. Almost every one who is against Harry potter hasnt read a single book of Harry Potter. They tend to think that just because some books say something about super-natural things, they are satanic. What harm can simple reading do? Obviously nothing. No one seems to have anything against Lord of the Rings or Eragon. They always aim at the most popular books.

first things first...the movies. Yes, in a sense they are ruined. Everything that I wanted to see was cut or probably not even thought of. However, on the flip side you have to take into consideration that many people who go see the movies WILL NEVER READ THE BOOKS. Warner brother's main job is to target all audiances and try to please the general public. Had you have watched the movies first, you probably would have liked them. It's hard to sit with certain expectations and have them fall short, but, it's also a tough job to cut 300-700 pages into a short 3 hour span and be able to give viewers the gist of the story.

Now, the books. Harry is growing up. Didn't a lot of the fun end when you started growing up? I think that is one of JKR's better talents, allowing Harry to grow up and giving you the sense, that indeed though he is no longer 11 years old, he is no longer making 11 year old decisions, and having the same feelings of an 11 year old, either. For you, the book may have been tiresome, but, for me, I was on the edge of my seat, soaking up all of the information. My suggestion is to truly READ the books and not skim through.

I don't think Harry Potter has been stretched out way too far, I think everything is just as it is supposed to be.

This story is based on the rules of Alchemy. If you don't know what Alchemy is, it is the science that has the purpose of transforming impure metals into gold or silver and discovering the path to the creation of the Philosopher's Stone. There are 7 main stages in the process of Alchemy, and since the HP story is based on this science, there have to be 7 books. You may find it all tiring, but the truth is that there is a reason and a meaning behind HP that a lot of people aren't aware of. If you need more proof that HP is based on Alchemy, check this site:

It's true, the movies really stunk. And now that everyone is hanging on the 7th book, it would be really devastating for many people to find out something that they wish really didn't happen that did. The concept of the 6th book was very astounding (although a bit depressing), it's just that it was very long and tedious, but even though it had many details, sometimes too many details can totally wreck a book. So technically, I half agree and half disagree with you.

The movies...i will agree with...the movies are just bad, but the books are just wonderful...and the darker they get, the more realistic they become. Do you honestly thing, by the time harry reached 17, that it was all going to be about birds twittering, and bunnies singing?

True with the movies part, they do show the books poorly...

But, the books are still fascinating... I still enjoy reading them all over again, as many times as i can, They're really good..
But with the recent death in book 6, i don't know if i am gonna even think about reading 7...
