Yes, Google Earth is available for free down load and also for membership for a fee.....but with free membership you are able to find locations by typing in an address, or location. You can also find directions, distance, travel time between a point A and a point B. You can also just take a tour that takes you from one famous landmark to another! Try it, its pretty neat!

You do not need Windows XP to run google earth. Just a compatible video card. I have 3 computers running it and
1-WInXP Pro 1-Win2k 1-Windows Server 2003 and all run Google Earth just fine. The lowest video card I think you can use to get best results is 32MB...I had a 16mb card and it only showed a white earth no green....Thanks

Google earth is available for free download off the google site http://earth.google.com/ .
To use simply install the software and execute.
You can then start looking at satellite images of places on earth.
