Was there cloning involved. Did the twin in prison actually die from the hanging? / what was up with Jack in the tube at the end.

Yup, Hugh Jackman's character was cloned. And the twin did died from hanging. That was the clone that Hugh Jackman killed. Cause the cloning would result in having 2 Hugh Jackmans, so the clone had to be killed. When the clone appeared, the floor under it would open and the clone would drop into a tank of water and drowned. So that was the drowned clone. Hope that helps. :)
