It is a really good movie, but you have to be in the mood for a really long, dramatic, emotional, sad flick, that could potentially make you doubt all humanity, but it is a good movie.

If you're talking about the one with Daniel Day-Lewis made in 1992, then yes, I thought it was a good movie. There are quite a few other ones, although this is the only one I've seen. The story was quite good, and there was plenty of action. It's been a while since I've last watched it, but the ending was kind of sad if memory serves me correctly. Check out the link. It's from Yahoo! Movies, and has the list of all of the "Last of the Mohicans" movies.

The Last of the Mohicans is an epic novel by James Fenimore Cooper, first published in January 1826.

It was one of the most popular English-language novels of its time, and helped establish Cooper as one of the first world-famous American writers. Although stylistic and narrative flaws left it open to criticism since its publication, and its length and distinctive prose style have reduced its appeal to later readers, The Last of the Mohicans remains embedded in American literature courses. It is the most famous of the Leatherstocking Tales.

it is a classic and a wonderful movie

I think its a great movie. Might be a little violent, but it features an epic climax and terrific scenery. The sound track fits perfectly. All in all, excellently crafted movie, but be careful about the violence. I can't recall all the little details, but it likely ranks up there with the violence of Saving Private Ryan.

It was one of Daniel Day Lewis' greatest films...but the really amazing element of the film was the cinematography...and the music...which is ripped off on a daily basis for almost every trailer ever made that has even a hint of drama in it...

Very much like the movie "Glory" in that sense...
