Just a curiosity of mine if anyone can answer i´d appreciate it. :)

Historically they are associated with Death and pestilence. Death, because their maggots eat us when we die. And pestilence because locust use to destroy our food. Its an animal we can't control. We associate roaches and flies with disease. (also ants although they are not really a concern) Some can sneak in and hurt us. Bees and wasp can do disproportionate amount of pain for the size as well as some spiders and scorpions(Though they are not insects)

its not the insects that most fear its what the insects could do.
example; bite, scratch, sting, poisin us, create rashes, laying eggs in or on us, crawling on us, and so on...
But Im sure there are people who are just grossed out by them, the way they look or live, smell, crawl...ect...
Most people think insects they think discusting. Poor ignorent people (shaking my head).

Who wants a spider crawling on them? I sure don't! :o) Spiders do suck blood from you. And did you know that we swallow at least 5 spiders a year in our sleep?

Ants are creepy enough. I've been "bitten" by one and it HURTS like hell!!!

It isn't fear for me, but the knowledge of what they CAN do to us... especially venomous insects!

If Its anything poisonis I automatically kill it without thinking. If its any insect thats not going to try and suck my blood or hurt me in anyway, I catch it gently and put it outside.

Fear is usually caused from ignorance. When one doesn't know about something it can be feared. Or it could be because the # of legs or appendages it has...

because they are creepy and crawly and most people think their bite is very poisonous and painfull . Also,some people even think they will crawl on their bodies when they are asleep . Thanks for the 2 points !!
