for the execution of Saddam Hussein.........
Not that I am against him being executed, but by hanging???? Wow, isn't it amazing how this old method of execution is still being used in some countries? I can even accept death before a firing squad, over a hanging. Just me though, I guess I am having some personal challenges with this.
I was also looking at the news this evening and it just sickens me, to see people expressing how excited they are about him being executed, as if their favorite team had won the Super Bowl or something. People actually saying, "I am excited to see that he will finally be killed for what he has done!!!!"
Once again, I am all for what has happened, but I don't see where I should be excited and rejoicing.
What are your thoughts????

all execution methods are inhumane...but I would agree with you over the hanging but not firing squad. firing could cause pain and torture before killing the person finally. I think by sleeping injection and then gas, maybe better. but not in my country, where governments still believe in Islam and beheading.

It is a shame people have to be executed at all. He killed his own people, started wars and took freedom from possible a million people. What gave him that right? No one. The laws of man must be upheld. As for the way.. some would say it was right some wrong. All that I know is it is over now. Some people feel that they and their Children can now sleep. Until the next one just as bad shows up.

I think he got off easy compared to the raping, torturing, and killing of his own people. He should have gotten the electric chair with the voltage being spread through his body evenly for over an hour until thoroughly fried. And I know I'll probably get a lot of thumbs down for saying that but I'm being real. I have no sympathy for that evil bastard and I hope he's even enjoying his long stay in hell right now as I'm writing this.

I don't have a problem with the death penalty of someone convicted of a capital offense. I really don't care if it's guns, gas, rope, or chair. When I read of a convicted murderer who was released on good behavior, was out 2 or 3 days, and drowned a baby in a toilet and impaled her grandmother on a bedpost; i wonder if we shouldn't add death by woodchipper.

A tremendous mistake... Saddam should live to pay , day by day, all the bad things he made...
His execution will delay allied forces back home,

Hanging is to humane, if i was over seeing the execution i would have had him shot in the leg locked him up and left him to bleed to death, he deserves it. But that's just me.

Saddam requested a firing squad, supposedly a more noble exicution, but was refused.
Instead he was given a death of a common criminal,... hanging!

Sounds like a large scale diversion. I agree, there is no human judge on killing other humans. Can I help it if I am secretly pleased to see him go? Human too ,I guess. You can believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.

There are very few times when you should be happy that someone is dead. Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein are two of them.

I dont have any sympathy for him either - he showed no sympathy to his victims or families. Hanging....shooting...lethal injection....electric chair - I find all abhorrent, but for him they are all humane in my mind. Im just glad he has gone and the families of his victims perhaps get some peace.
