This whole news story about the hanging has just reminded me of what kind of sick world we live in even though it will soon be 2007,our society acts like it it in the 19th century or even before that.
We try to kid ourselves that we have evolved into a more refined society ,but we really have not at all. I mean come on,we still hang people in 2006? give me a break..good thing we have computers and cell phones to let people know about it.

Hello =)

From a Buddhist perspective,

For the next 6 weeks, he will be in "the Bardo State" which is a state of relative non-existence, and confusion..."

After that time, I'm reasonably sure, that due to the massive amounts of negative karma he has accumulated in this lifetime (murder tends to accumulate negative karma), he will spend many hundreds of thousands of years in various hells. Eventually, however, he will manage to exhaust his Karmic debt, and climb upwards through the ranks to the point where he will be born as the lowest of creatures... (perhaps an amoeba) for many many lifetimes, and then maybe have a few hundred thousands of passes as an earthworm, and so on....... ultimately, he may make his way back to the human race, but will begin as the lowest of humans, born crippled and disfigured to a family in a poor and starving country, and so on....

One day, in ultimate future, he will finally have learned his lessons, and cease to cause harm to others, eventually acquiring positive Karma, and ultimately reaching enlightenment, like the rest of us, but I tend to think that he will be among the last to do so.

If he ever enters the Heavenly abode where Allah exists, however, I suspect that Allah will have a number of lowly jobs for him, as well. He did so many many bad things in the name of the Lord of Heaven, that I can't imagine that he will be anything more than a whipping boy in the kingdom of heaven.

There are many expedient means that Buddhists can use to try and reduce one's negative Karma, however, and I know that Buddhists around the world tonight are using them in full gear. I will likely join them at some point, because every person deserves my love and compassion. I just feel that his debt of negative Karma is so great, that it will take a great deal of these expedient means to make any difference whatsoever. I know that the Dalai Lama will be doing so tonight, and that in itself will cut hundreds of thousands of years off of his time spent in hell.

Namaste, and Happy New Year,

--Tom

If he is, he has much more company than if he were in heaven. It is an established fact that only about one out every one hundred million humans that have ever lived, have ended up in heaven! The rest of us will undoubtedly get to spend many hours with Saddam.

No...I think Saddam's sitting with Higher Being right now viewing a review of his life. When Saddam sees his life review and comes to be in the place of awareness of what he had done, feeling the emotions of all whose lifes he hurtfully and sadly effected . . . Saddams 'heart' is probably ' crying ' very deeply.

Life review for awareness, 'punishment' of Saddam feeling the pain of what he put others through. Awareness, heart awareness . . . compassion ? That's as deep as I choose to go on this question. Work is being done with him right now. . . I don't choose to think of it anymore as it's in the hands of higher place. All is as it should be.

only god knows. we mortals have no rights to say if he's going to hell or no. stop acting like you know all. before you question on another person destination after life, i think you should ponder on yours. where might you be after you're dead.

No...because nobody sure if there is hell or not. at least we did not discover it . and science shows no hell or heaven. simply it is an old tale.
