I bought a wireless router called "Linksys Wireless- G Broadband Router Wireless-B(802.11g)". I have Verizon DSL. I plugged all the right plugs in the right places. In the Verizon Modem, what is plugged in is: power plug, phone line, and ethernet (which is connected to the router). What is plugged on the router is: the ethernet (from the Verizon modem), power plug, and another ethernet (which is blue that connects to my computer). When i try to install the router using the installation cd that came with the router, it keeps saying that my computer is "not connected to the internet and for me to turn off and on the internet modem/DSL." I did everything and it still keeps saying that. The software wont let me continue with the installation. What is lighted on my Verizon modem is Power, Ethernet, Dsl, Internet. What is lighted on my router is Power, WLAN, Ethernet Port 1, Internet. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

You will prolly have to do a manual setup. Those should come with the manual on the CD.

You need to do three things:
1) Set your IP address to 192.168.1.1 (in Control Panel / Network Settings) so that your IP will stay fixed -- THIS IS TEMPORARY.
2) Disconnect your DSL modem from the computer, and disconnect your router from the DSL modem. Connect your computer to the router directly using the Ethernet cable, and use the address http://192.168.1.254 or similar (see your router manual) to configure the router according to what the manual says).
2) Connect the router to the DSL modem like you did, connect your computer to therouter, and RESET your IP address to be obtained dynamically.

What you are doing here is letting the DSL modem hand a fixed IP to the router, which will take over from the DSL modem and give out different "local" IP addresses to each computer that connects to it.

Please see the URL below if that doesn't help.

This would be a good one to get Verizon on the phone.

Those auto setup CDs don't always work properly. There should be a copy of the docs for the router on the CD. Look for manual setup instructions and follow them closely. It's a bit fidgety but it will work if you follow the instructions exactly.
